When you manage or develop an apartment building, the entrance intercom is more than a doorbell—it is the first line of security, the primary interface for residents, and a critical part of building management. The FARHD Smart IP Video Door Station is engineered specifically for apartment projects, combining high-definition video, multiple access methods, elevator control, and robust weatherproofing into one powerful unit.
In this blog, we explore the features that make this IP door station the ideal choice for apartment buildings, residential complexes, and smart access control systems. Whether you are a system integrator, property developer, or facility manager, you will find the information you need to specify the right solution.
1080P HD Camera with 130° Wide Viewing Angle & IR Night Vision
The door station is equipped with a 1080P HD camera and a 130° wide viewing angle, capturing a broad view of the entrance with no blind spots. Infrared night vision ensures clear video even in complete darkness, so residents can always see who is at the door—day or night.
Key benefits:
- Crisp, detailed video for visitor identification
- Wide coverage for busy entrances
- Reliable performance in low-light conditions
Multiple Access Methods: RFID, Mobile NFC, Password & Face Recognition
Different residents prefer different ways to enter. The FARHD IP Door Station supports a comprehensive set of access methods:
| Access Method | Best For |
|---|---|
| RFID Card | Daily use – tap and enter |
| Mobile NFC | Tech-savvy residents using smartphones |
| Password | Temporary guests or backup access |
| Face Recognition | Hands-free, fast access |
Face recognition supports up to 40,000 faces, making it suitable for large apartment communities, office buildings, and gated communities. Residents simply walk up to the entrance, and the door unlocks automatically.
Supports Up to 9,999 Apartments
The system is designed for scalability. It supports up to 9,999 apartments with 1- to 4-digit room numbers, making it ideal for:
- High-rise apartment towers
- Large residential complexes
- Gated communities
- Mixed-use developments
One door station can serve thousands of residents, simplifying infrastructure and reducing hardware costs.
Elevator Control Protocol Integration
For high-rise buildings, elevator control is a significant convenience and security feature. The FARHD IP Door Station supports elevator control protocol integration, allowing the system to communicate with elevator controllers.
What this enables:
- After a resident verifies a visitor, the system can automatically call the elevator to the appropriate floor.
- Visitors are guided directly to the resident’s floor without pressing buttons.
- Access is restricted to authorized floors only.
This integration is particularly valuable in luxury apartments, high-rise towers, and gated communities.
Room Number & Resident Name List Displayed on Screen
The door station features a clear display that shows room numbers and resident names. Visitors can easily find the correct apartment, reducing confusion and improving the visitor experience. This is especially useful in large buildings with many units.
IP65 Weatherproof & Wide Temperature Range
Outdoor devices must withstand the elements. The FARHD IP Door Station is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance and operates from -40°C to +70°C.
Key durability features:
- Dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets
- Suitable for harsh climates – from freezing winters to scorching summers
- Aluminum alloy + glass construction for long-term outdoor use
PoE / External Power Supply
The door station supports PoE (Power over Ethernet) and external power supply. With PoE, a single CAT5/6 cable carries both power and data, simplifying installation and reducing cable clutter. This is ideal for new builds and retrofits where network infrastructure is available.
Compatible with Electric Locks, Magnetic Locks, Electric Strikes & Motor Locks
The built-in relay output is compatible with all common lock types:
- Electric locks
- Magnetic locks
- Electric strikes
- Motor locks
This flexibility ensures seamless integration with existing door hardware.
Multi-Language Support | Touch Screen | Aluminum Alloy + Glass
The door station features a touch screen interface and supports multiple languages, making it suitable for international projects and diverse communities. The aluminum alloy + glass construction delivers both durability and a premium appearance.
